Active transducer & Passive transducer simple explanation. By Yuvi - Study Point

Hey everyone, today we are going to learn about Active transducers & Passive transducers.
So, without wasting any time let's get started.

Why we use Active & Passive transducers?
  • Physical forces like pressure, displacement, etc are difficult to measure and for measuring them, devices are required which converts the physical quantity into measurable energy.
  • And this conversion or we can say the function is done by the help of transducer.
  • Which converts the physical or non-measurable quantity into a measurable quantity.
ACTIVE TRANSDUCER
  • Active transducer does not require or does not need any power source for their operation.
  • For example ~ thermocouple, photovoltaic cell, etc.
  • Active transducers produce an electrical signal which is proportional to the input physical quantity.
  • Additional energy is not required in active transducers.
The design of the active transducer is simple or complicated?
  • Its design is very simple. Active transducers output is obtained in the form of voltage or current.
PRINCIPLE
  • It works on the principle of conversion of energy from one form to another form.
  • They self develop their electrical output signal that is why they also know as the self-generating transducer.
PASSIVE TRANSDUCER
  • The passive transducer is not self-generating type. It's internal parameters like capacitance, inductance & resistance changes because of the input signal.
  • Forex ~ thermistor, differential transformer, etc.
  • The passive transducer takes power from the external energy source for transduction and transduction means the conversion of energy from one form to another.
  • And the output is obtained by changing the physical properties of the material.
The design of Passive transducers are complicated or simple?
  • The design of a passive transducer is complicated.
  • There is no additional energy source and the resolution of the passive transducers is high.

NBFM & WBFM (Narrow band frequency modulation & Wide band frequency modulation) simple explanation. By Yuvi - Study Point

Hey everyone, today we are going to learn about NBFM & WBFM (Narrowband frequency modulation & Wideband frequency modulation) in simple or easy way. So, without wasting any time lets get started. The information about NBFM & WBFM When the spectrum's efficiency is important or it is required then we use NBFM (Narrowband frequency modulation) is used.  But when better signal quality is required or when it is important then we use WBFM (Wideband frequency modulation). The term NBFM is used for those applications where the modulation index is less than or equal to 1. And the term WBFM is used for those applications where the modulation index is greater than or equal to 1. Now, let's see more difference between Narrow band frequency modulation(NBFM) and Wideband frequency modulation(WBFM). The term narrow-band and wide-band refer to the actual radio channel bandwidth. The purpose or advantage of using NBFM (Narrowband frequency modulation) The purpo...

Air Preheater, Superheater & Reheater simple learning. By Yuvi- Study Point

Hey everyone, today we are going to understand Air preheater, Superheater, and reheater in a simple or easy way. So, without wasting any time lets get started. Why air preheater is required? The entire heat of the flue gases cannot be recovered by the help of an economizer. So, air preheater is also required to recover some of the heat through the flue gases. The boilers efficiency is also increased by 1% with the help of air preheater. {NOTE: If you guys don't know about the economizer then go through this link which is shown below. Because in this lecture video I have properly explained the economizer in a simple way.} Economizer video link.    https://youtu.be/scxizKi7kZQ  And check out this blog if you want to simply know about it in writing. https://www.blogger.com/u/1/blogger.g?blogID=8839271828242826805#editor/target=post;postID=1907393019648483083;onPublishedMen The information about air preheaters? Now, back to the point. The ...

RVDT (Rotary variable differential transformer or transducer) simple explanation. By Yuvi - Study Point

Hey everyone, today we are going to simply learn about RVDT (Rotary variable differential transformer). So, without wasting any time lets get started. RVDT is a passive transducer which means it requires an external power source. Its designing is same as like LVDT (Linear variable differential transformer o transducer) but the main dissimilarity is that RVDT has a cam-type core or we can say rotary ferromagnetic core which means the shape of the core is different because LVDT consists or employs flexible iron core for displacement.   And by the help of shaft, this core will turn or rotate among the two windings of the transformer. The shape of an RVDT is cam-shaped. Three conditions which occur is RVDT is ~ *when the core or shaft is placed at the null position then the induced e.m.f in secondary windings are similar as well as revers in phase. E0 = E1- E2 = 0 *When the core rotates in a clockwise direction, in this the more section of the core will enter ...
